I live in expectation of going back to my hairdresser. She's actually a neighbor and friend who is also a great hairdresser who understands my hair. (She also never blinks an eye at the condition of my house. I think she might be a saint. I think I may have to start worshipping her next week.)

But, sadly, at the moment, I cannot get my hair cut because I am in the middle of physical therapy for a frozen shoulder and I can't actually lift my left arm up enough to fiddle with hair. So, it grows long and I brush it out and it is all very boring.

As soon as my shoulder joint moves 90 degrees, I'm going for it. I only have 25 degrees to go!

Lesson learned here? Don't settle! :) Now that we are in such an economic upswing (cough, cough) I actually get my hair cut a litte shorter so that I can wait that much longer to go back. I get at least an extra month out of the deal. Sad thing is, I love my hairdresser, but what can I do?

At dinner tonight - when I mentioned that I'll be 40 next week ( I felt the Minion and S.O needed that reminder, cause living with me just isn't enough of one ), The Minion observed that I "look old". The S.O chimed in with, "You should call for a hair appointment." Am I going out on a limb to assume this is my present from them? I'd go to Ted's barber shop in the plaza with a box of Clairol and have Glenda do her best with me, but if they are paying...maybe I'll try out Fringes at the Equinox!

Ooh, yeah, you don't mess around when it comes to a good haircut! For me, it's color. I have long-ish straight hair, so there's only so much you can destroy it with a cut. But I get highlights, and I like to keep them nice and subtle. I found someone who does it right, and then we moved several towns away. Don't care, I keep going!
